Don’t Fight your carb cravings

Don’t Fight your carb cravings

The fall season is a transition time where our bodies adjust to the colder weather and shorter days. We naturally feel more tired and crave comfort food.

Be kind to your mind and body. No need to resist this urge: on the contrary, accept it as a mechanism that has been within us from ancestral times.

Being aware and understanding this process can be useful when choosing our foods. Asian traditions believe that the flavour of fall is “sour”, therefore foods such as sauerkraut, limes, plums, apples, Brussel sprouts, can be included in your diet.

At the same time, take a moment to visit your grocery store and take note of which vegetables are local and in season. This is one of the best ways to purchase your produce seasonally.

Lower heat and longer cooking times are also recommended as these techniques are in tune with the feelings of introspection and slowness typical of this season.

Changing seasons can be a great chance to tune in with your inner wisdom, to rethink your routine and eating habits, and to adjust by putting your best foot forward for the cozy season ahead.
